Harvey M. Moore, Esq. - President

Mr. Moore has practiced law in California for over 30 years and is rated “A-V” in the Martindale-Hubbell™ Legal Directory.

As the principal of The Moore Law Group, Mr. Moore is responsible for all practice areas of the firm, including business transactions and litigation, the collection of consumer and commercial debt, advising lenders, credit unions, debt buyers and collection agencies on debt collection related issues, including compliance with state and federal laws impacting the debt collection industry and defending lawsuits brought under those laws and the firm's retail and commercial collection practice.

Mr. Moore has been retained as an expert witness regarding policies/procedures and industry standards regarding the collection of retail and commercial debt and the reporting thereof to credit reporting agencies.

Mr. Moore is a 1981 graduate of both the UCLA School of Law and the UCLA Graduate School of Management and a 1977 graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.

Mr. Moore has spoken to numerous conferences and groups throughout the country on a variety of topics including Debtor and Consolidator Scams, the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Legislative and Administrative Enforcement Agendas in the Credit Industry.

Accomplishments:

Angela Dawson, Esq. - Collections Litigation Manager

Ms. Dawson has worked in Retail and Commercial collections for almost 10 years.

Before joining The Moore Law Group, Ms. Dawson was in-house collections counsel at Balboa Capital in Irvine, CA. She received her Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University School of Law in 2000.

Ray Mahdavi, Esq. - Associate Attorney

Mr. Mahdavi’s practice focuses on defense of actions brought against the firm’s clients for alleged violations of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Rosenthal Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Telephone Consumer Protections Act, Breach of Contract and claims of emotional distress.

Before joining The Moore Law Group, Mr. Mahdavi worked in the legal compliance department of a major collection agency for approximately seven years. Mr. Mahdavi received his Juris Doctorate from Western State University College of Law in 2006 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Law and Society from the University of California, Riverside.

Elaina Moore, Esq. - Associate Attorney

Ms. Moore earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, cum laude, from Southern Methodist University in Dallas Texas and graduated law school at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Sheila Shahriyarpour, Esq. - Associate Attorney

Ms. Shahriyarpour brings significant experience in various fields of law including civil litigation, and employment, tax and corporate law.

Sheila earned a BA in Economics from UCLA and obtained her Juris Doctorate degree with an emphasis in Taxation, from Chapman University School of Law.

Terri Lazo, Esq. - Associate Attorney

Ms. Lazo has been practicing law in California for 7 years. She began her career as a criminal prosecutor in San Diego, where she handled jury trials and bench trials. Ms. Lazo then opened her own law practice where she specialized in criminal and civil litigation. She is a seasoned trial attorney respected by Judges for her demeanor and litigation abilities in the courtroom.

Ms. Lazo is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law where she was the recipient of the Trial Litigation Award.

Brooke Sanita, Esq. - Associate Attorney

Ms. Sanita gained extensive commercial litigation and corporate bankruptcy litigation experience while representing several major accounts at a nationally recognized law firm. Prior this, Ms. Sanita focused on business litigation.

Ms. Sanita received her Juris Doctor from Chapman University School of Law in Orange County.

Ms. Sanita is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and the Commercial Law League of America.

Mark Medrano - Collections Manager

Mark Medrano brings over 12 years of experience in both consumer and commercial recoveries for over 100 different lenders and banks. Mr. Medrano has extensive knowledge in both the FDCPA and California Rosenthal Act. Mr. Medrano has worked with several members of NARCA as well as other state and national associations involving legal collections. Through the years, Mr. Medrano simplified the approach to legal collections, allowing us to dovetail optimal results with compliance to the FDCPA and California Rosenthal Act. Mr. Medrano is responsible for the training of all new collectors, as well as the monitoring of our seasoned collectors, to ensure that professional growth never ceases for each individual. Speed and efficiency is the key to our success; this enables us to compete on a national scale.

The Collection Department at The Moore Law Group is a seasoned group of proven collectors who provide an unparalleled service to all of our retail and commercial collections clients. The overall goal of the Collection Department is to maximize a client’s net recoveries in light of the increasing costs of litigation in California. The Moore Law Group has a strong front end collection approach that enables us to determine quickly how to best work each past due receivable.
